The Robins Regional Chamber invites all to attend the 2014 Leadership Robins Region Alumni Reception on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce, 1228 Watson Blvd. in Warner Robins.  The event will begin with a brief social at 5:30 p.m. and feature the 2014 LRR Class Project, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The class will showcase their project; titled Project SAFE L.I.F.T. (Lifestyle Improvements & Facilities Transformation).  The acronym was coined by the 2014 class with the ultimate goal of making a lasting positive impact on the Salvation Army Safe House (SASH) in Warner Robins.

Since its inception in 1985, the SASH has been supporting victims of domestic violence and other family violence crisis. For more than 25 years, the SASH has responded to more than 18,000 victims and educated more than 25,000 individuals on the effects of domestic abuse and its impact on our community at large.

The LRR class project included creating a concrete ramp for a facility storage unit, providing storage unit insulation, and constructing a computer lab and education center that includes brand new computers.  They have raised more than $30K for the project through fundraisers and the generous donations and in-kind support of businesses in the Robins Region.

The purpose of Leadership Robins Region is to help emerging leaders prepare for and encourage them to seek leadership positions within the community.  The core curriculum is based on the 2005 version of the University of Georgia’s J.W. Fanning Institute Community Leadership Program.  Best-practices of similar programs being conducted around the country are incorporated, along with lessons learned from the 2013 class.

The program is planned and supervised by a Leadership Advisory Council, consisting of graduates of the program.  The Chamber staff coordinates and implements the monthly meetings as well as provides accounting and administrative support.
