Macon Made Candy Products Debut at Locally Owned Grocery Store
Press release from the issuing company
Friday, November 7th, 2014
For the first time in its wholesale company’s history, Macon-made Crown Candy Corporation products are being sold directly to a local, independent retailer. Ocmulgee Traders, the locally-owned downtown grocery store located less than three miles from Crown Candy’s manufacturing facility, received its first assortment of Crown Candy products this week.
To demonstrate the successful collaboration among local businesses, while highlighting Macon Made products, the College Hill Alliance will host a press conference at Ocmulgee Traders (455 Poplar Street) on Friday, Nov. 7, at 3:30 p.m.
“Ocmulgee Traders wants to support local makers just like the community has supported us,” said Laura Bell, who co-owns Ocmulgee Traders with her husband Steve. “By keeping our dollars in our community, we support businesses and jobs here in Macon-Bibb instead of sending it to other communities and countries.”
