Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) President Ivan Allen and Middle Georgia State College (MGA) President Christopher Blake will meet at 2 p.m.  Tuesday, Nov. 18to expand the colleges’ partnership  and sign an agreement that will make it easier for CGTC Criminal Justice students to continue their education at MGA.

Dr. Allen and Dr. Blake will sign an articulation agreement that identifies 23 CGTC courses that MGA will accept for students seeking four-year degrees in Criminal Justice. Some of the courses are core courses – such as English, science, or math – while others are program-area courses that CGTC students would take while seeking a two-year associate of applied science degree in Criminal Justice.

Middle Georgia State will accept those courses for students wishing to continue their education and earn a four-year bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. The agreement will take effect the beginning of spring semester in January 2015.

It is anticipated that students from both colleges will be present for the ceremony. CGTC students will also have the opportunity to tour Middle Georgia State facilities.

The signing will take place in the board room of the Professional Sciences Center on the Macon Campus of Middle Georgia State. Both presidents will give brief remarks. Faculty members also will be present to explain the structure of the program.
