Central Georgia Technical College’s Office of Global Initiatives will continue its Global Roundtable series with a presentation on China Tuesday, November 18 at 3 p.m. Wesleyan College officials will present on their Confucius Institute, as well as Wesleyan’s historic connection to China. Members of the community are invited to attend this free event.
Presenters on behalf of Wesleyan College will include Dr. Isadora Jiang, director of the Confucius Institute at Wesleyan; Dr. Vivia Fowler, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs; and Steve Farr, vice president for Enrollment Services. The speakers will give an introduction to China, talk about Wesleyan’s long-standing connection to the country, and discuss developing partnerships with Chinese colleges and universities.
CGTC’s Office of Global Initiatives held its inaugural Global Roundtable on Germany in March 2014. This is the second event in the series. CGTC’s Global Initiatives office is led by Rick Hutto and is steadily working to expand CGTC’s reach into the international market for both academic and economic development opportunities. Since the establishment of this office in fall 2013, partnerships for economic development and educational opportunities have been developed with several countries, including Colombia, China, Scotland, and Tunisia.
The Global Roundtable is an ongoing series featuring speakers on topics relating to economic development and workforce development with international partners in Georgia. The Office of Global Initiatives will bring these speakers to the campus to expose CGTC students and the local community to expanding international initiatives in the state.
The Global Roundtable featuring China will be held in the H building auditorium at Central Georgia Technical College’s Macon campus at 3300 Macon Tech Drive. There is no charge for the event and the public is invited to attend. For more information, please contact the Office of Global Initiatives at 478.218.3299.
