The Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce announced today that the organization has hired April Bragg of Milledgeville to fill the position of President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Bragg was the top choice of the Chamber’s Executive Search Committee and was endorsed by the Chamber’s Board of Directors at a meeting held on Friday of last week. She is currently the President & CEO of the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce where she has served for the past three years.
Sonya Jenkins, Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors and co-chair of the search committee said: “We received an overwhelming response of more than 50 applicants for the position. Ultimately, her proven chamber experience, business leadership, governmental relations and economic development made April our top choice. Her passion for the community is contagious, and we are excited to welcome her to the Robins Region.”
The search process was a 2-1/2 month project that included the engagement of Steve Williams as Interim President & CEO of the Chamber while the search committee focused on developing the job description, performing the national search, and ultimately making their recommendation to the Board of Directors.
Georgia Chamber President & CEO Chris Clark wrote to say, “I’m excited to learn that the Robins Regional Chamber has hired one of the best and brightest chamber executives in the state of Georgia. April has been a driving force for economic development, downtown redevelopment and state partnerships in Baldwin County, and I know she’ll have a strong and positive impact in Warner Robins.”
Bragg is an emerging leader in community and business development with 14 years of experience helping businesses, nonprofits and organizations develop effective marketing campaigns, branding strategies and planning models for growth. A native of Dublin, Georgia, she has called Milledgeville home since 1996. Bragg received her Bachelors of Science degree from Georgia College in 2000, and this past June she earned her IOM designation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organizational Management.
Bragg’s official start date is November 17, 2014, and the Board will host a meet-and-greet on November 18 to allow the membership and community to join us in welcoming her aboard.
