Press release from the issuing company

Monday, August 25th, 2014

Macon Octoberfest, which premiered last year in Cherry Street Plaza, will return on October 24-25 in the new location of Tattnall Square Park. The two-day southern music and Georgia craft beer festival will feature 10 bands and over 15 Georgia-based craft beer breweries.

This cultural event was created by Macon residents Shannon and Lisa Harris, owners of Swiss tour company Alpine Adventure Trails Tours, to provide a unique Octoberfest tradition for the Central Georgia region. All proceeds from the festival returns to charity. This year’s recipients include All About Animals, the Alzheimer’s Association and L.H. Harris Ecology Center.

Bands performing this year include The SteelDrivers, The Weeks, Delta Saints, A Thousand Horses, Seven Handle Circus, Matrimony, Family & Friends, Atlanta German Polka Band, Dalmatian and Louise Warren.

Participating craft breweries include Atlanta’s Red Brick Brewing Company, Savannah’s Southbound Brewing Company and Macon’s own Macon Beer Company, among many others. Festival-goers will be able to purchase beer samples, flights and steins.

Advance tickets are on sale now and start at $8. Two-day discount tickets and VIP packages are also available. Free admission is offered to those with an active Military ID.
