Bill Stradley has joined Helms College and Helms Career Institute as Vice President of Enrollment Management. 

Stradley is responsible for the enrollment process for new students at Helms College campuses in Macon and Augusta, and two Helms Career Institute campuses in Middle Georgia. A 20-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Stradley has 14 years’ experience in post-secondary education as an admissions representative, director of admissions, and executive campus leadership positions.

Sharn Vericella has joined Helms College and Helms Career Institute as externship and career placement manager.

Vericella provides counseling to all culinary and health students, sets up externships and assists graduates in job placement. An Augusta native and graduate of Georgia Southern University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Vericella previously served as an AmeriCorps volunteer with the United Way.

Shannon McGhee, Ph.D., has been promoted to Director of Student Services for Helms College and Helms Career Institute. She previously served as Senior Manager of Student Services. McGhee earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from Mercer University.

Lonnie Stephenson has joined Edgar’s Hospitality Group as Executive Chef.

Stephenson is responsible for the oversight and team leadership of the hospitality component of Goodwill Industries of the CSRA. With a degree in Culinary Arts from the New England Culinary Institute of Essex, Vt., Stephenson’s professional background is in academics, operation of independent restaurants, small and large hotel brands and in catering and banquets.

David C. LaFrance has joined Helms College, Augusta Campus, as Senior Instructor of Culinary Arts.
