On Wednesday, July 2, the Wellston Winds will perform a free “Star-Spangled Concert” for the Warner Robins community in the Robert L. Scott Auditorium at the Museum of Aviation at 7:00 pm. The Wellston Winds is a community musical ensemble made of local band directors, music teachers, retired Air Force bandsmen, and other musicians from the Warner Robins area. Under the direction of conductor C. Lloyd McDonald, the group aims to bring engaging and entertaining performances to our community. Since 2011, the 40-piece Wellston Winds have given numerous free concerts in the local area, including programs for the International City Festival, Warner Robins Community Concert Association, and annual holiday concerts.

“From America the Beautiful  to Stars and Stripes Forever, this concert will provide many toe-tapping moments to rouse the spirit of patriotism and thankfulness for this great country of ours,” said Lloyd McDonald who is the conductor of the Feagin Mill Middle School Band. “The performance will include timeless classics such as God Bless America and Battle Hymn of the Republic, as well as some musical surprises, guests artists, and a salute to the members of our armed services. The Wellston Winds is excited to partner with the Museum of Aviation and the 21stCentury Partnership to bring this patriotic performance to the Robert Scott Auditorium.”

The auditorium is located near the front entrance door of the main Eagle building.  Doors will open for seating at 6:00 pm. For more information call the Museum of Aviation at (478) 926-6870.
