Emergency Medical Services at The Medical Center of Central Georgia recognize the important role that first responders play in the healthcare of the local community. MCCG would like to recognize EMS from across central Georgia during National EMS Week, May 18-24.

Macon Mayor Robert Reichert will proclaim “EMS Week in Macon” on Monday, May 19 at 2:00 p.m. in a ceremony at Macon City Hall. This is not a public event, but media are invited to attend.

“Emergency medical services are a vital public service in any community. The Medical Center’s EMS team and EMS teams in communities across the state are ready to provide life saving care to those in need at a moment’s notice. It is only fitting that we take time this week to recognize them for the numerous hours they spend on the job, in training, and in service to our community,” said Casey Bedgood, EMS Operations Manager at MCCG.

By definition, EMS consists of emergency physicians and nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, firefighters, educators, administrators and others related to emergency healthcare.
