Mercer University’s student chapter of the Financial Management Association and the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Middle Georgia will host a community-wide Family Financial Wellness Fair March 29 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the University Center on the Macon campus.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is part of this year’s International Cherry Blossom Festival. The first 100 participants will receive a free credit report with their FICO credit score.

The goal of the Family Financial Wellness Fair is to support increasing personal financial stability for Middle Georgians. During the fair, participants will have access to a variety of financial-related resources from onsite programs and vendors. These include personal credit report analysis, financial seminars, tax advice and information on various governmental and community programs. Representatives from several local credit unions and banks will be available to talk with participants about checking, saving and home financing needs.

“The Family Financial Wellness Fair will be a great opportunity for Middle Georgia residents to meet and consult with local financial professionals and become more informed about the financial services available in our area,” said Dr. Anitha Manohar, assistant professor of finance at Mercer.

This is a family-friendly event with activities available for children of all ages. Additionally, door prizes will be given away throughout the fair.

“We are very excited to be working with CCCS and are looking forward to hosting the Family Financial Wellness Fair for our community,” said Mike Green, a senior finance and accounting major from Covington and president of the student chapter of FMA at Mercer.
