Georgia Children's Museum in Macon to Close
Friday, January 31st, 2014
The Georgia Children's Museum in downtown Macon is closing permanently.
Executive Director Mary Cay McCullough says the museum's last day of operation will be Friday.
"We wish to thank the Middle Georgia community for the support shown over the last six years as we have served over 25,000 guests including 6,000 children for school field trips," McCullough stated in a news release. "We have relished our role in helping to educate the children of Middle Georgia."
"We have struggled. We have always struggled," McCullough told 13WMAZ on Thursday.
The organization sold their building at 382 Cherry St. a year ago and their lease was up.
