  Georgia Power and the world-renowned Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta continue to provide new skills and training for Georgia educators through the annual PowerED Fellows program. PowerED Fellows, funded by The Georgia Power Foundation Inc., receive a three-day professional developmental experience at the Ron Clark Academy focused on STEM-related best practices in teaching and student engagement to prepare the workforce of the future.

• Robins, Georgia Tech Partner for the Future

  Robins Air Force Base and the Georgia Institute of Technology mutually entered into an Educational Partnership Agreement on Sept 29th. Georgia Tech also took the opportunity to welcome Team Robins as members into their Manufacturing Institute Industrial Partners program. Those two trailblazing actions, which are the result of many months of discussion and cooperation, will create avenues to greatly increase collaboration and synergistically merge each organization’s unique resources.

Moss set the theme for the conference recently held in Atlanta by invoking what he called “the significance of ‘one’,” be it one connection made; one idea shared; or one moment of clarity.

  Gov. Nathan Deal recognized several of the state’s top tourism professionals at the 2017 Georgia Governor’s Tourism Conference on Jekyll Island. The annual industry event, hosted by the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the Georgia Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus, brought together more than 400 tourism industry professionals from across the state.

  Gov. Nathan Deal announced that Amazon.com, Inc. will create more than 500 full-time jobs at a new fulfillment center in Macon-Bibb County. This will be Amazon’s fourth fulfillment center in the state.

• Site Selection Ranks Georgia No. 1 for Business for Fifth Straight Year

  Gov. Nathan Deal announced that Georgia has been named the No. 1 state in the nation in which to do business for the fifth consecutive year by Site Selection, a leading economic development trade magazine. According to Site Selection, Georgia is the first state to hold this ranking for five consecutive years under the same governor.

• Macon Bacon Release 2018 Game Schedule

The team will play a total of 52 games across the months of June through August. The Bacon will have 26 home games filled with fun theme nights and entertainment that the whole family will enjoy.

TCSG Commissioner Gretchen Corbin and Georg Eisenreich, the Bavarian ministry’s State Secretary, signed the MOU in a ceremony held Sept. 26th in Munich.
