Marcus entered Georgia’s foster care system without knowing what his future would hold. After aging out, he struggled to find the right direction in college. Then he discovered aviation maintenance.

Today, Marcus is at South Georgia Technical College, where he is gaining the hands-on skills needed to pursue a career working on aircraft. Through support from the Fostering Success Act, Marcus receives help with essential expenses including his tools, rent, transportation, insurance and other needs. That support gives him more time to focus on the demanding training required to succeed in aviation.

Marcus now sees opportunities he once never imagined, including a future working on commercial aircraft. His story is an example of what can happen when former foster youth have the resources to pursue high-skill training, build successful careers, and become part of Georgia’s workforce.
