The Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority (MBCIA) has recently released its Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Annual Report – Rooted & Growing. This report highlights the record-setting growth and strong partnerships in Macon-Bibb County.

Several industry announcements were included in the MBCIA’s FY25, including Embraer’s recommitment to Macon, Irving Consumer Products $600 million expansion investment, and YKK’s celebration of 50 years in Macon. BrightFarms also held a grand opening for its 1.5 million-square-foot, high-tech facility, that will produce up to 22,000 pounds of leafy greens a day.

The annual report highlights the awards presented to the MBCIA, MBCIA Chairman Robby Fountain, and outstanding industries across Macon-Bibb County in recognition of their contributions to the region’s economic growth.

The Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) Program saw a 7% increase in participation in FY25, and more than $18 million has been reinvested into Macon-Bibb County since 2017. The PILOT Program is a local tax incentive that encourages businesses to create jobs and invest in Macon-Bibb.

“This annual report reflects the strength of our partnerships and the impact of strategic growth in Macon-Bibb County,” said Chairman Fountain. “FY25 shows how collaboration drives real results for our community.”

The MBCIA also celebrated more than $1 billion in private investment in 2024 with a celebration and presentation of PILOT checks to Mayor Lester Miller, on behalf of Macon-Bibb County and Dr. Dan Sims, on behalf of the Bibb County School District.

The MBCIA concluded its FY25 on June 30th with 30 active projects, representing a combined $4.6 billion in potential investment.
