Aligning with its integration into Piedmont, Macon Occupational Medicine will change its name to Piedmont Occupational Medicine effective Nov. 4.

“We are excited to announce our name transition to Piedmont Occupational Medicine, a change that reflects our commitment to enhancing the quality of care we provide,” said Jonathan Pitts, director of Client Relations.

“While our name may be new, our dedication to our clients and the exceptional services our team offers will remain unchanged,” he said. “We look forward to continuing our mission of promoting workplace health and safety under this new banner.”

An official ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. at Piedmont Occupational Medicine, 124 Third St. in Macon.

First opening in 2001, Piedmont Occupational Medicine provides treatment of work-related injuries, pre-employment physical exams, substance abuse help, rehabilitation services and various safety programs for its clients.

Pitts said Piedmont Occupational Medicine will expand access to occupational medicine to include 75 Piedmont Urgent Care locations across the northern half of Georgia, including the two locations in Macon: 2410 Ingleside Ave. and 5791 Zebulon Road.

Monday’s ribbon-cutting will be attended by several Piedmont Macon officials, including Stephen J. Daugherty, CEO of Piedmont Macon Medical Center and Piedmont Macon North Hospital.

“This organization becoming part of the Piedmont family reinforces our healthcare system’s dedication to expanding services to meet the needs of the community,” Daugherty said.
