Embraer Aircraft Maintenance Services (EAMS) solidifies its place in Macon-Bibb County by renewing the lease with the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority (MBCIA) at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport (MCN). This new lease agreement is effective immediately.

In 2018, Macon-Bibb County leased property at the airport to the MBCIA, which then subleased to Embraer. This lease was a short-term agreement allowing Embraer to fully vet the business environment in Macon-Bibb County. Under the 2018 lease Embraer committed to bringing in 100 jobs. The MBCIA hopes to see the job count rise with this new commitment. The new Intergovernmental Ground Lease Agreement includes an initial five-year lease with provisions for up to two five-year renewal options, extending Embraer’s presence in Macon-Bibb County for up to 15 more years. This agreement highlights Embraer’s ongoing investment in the local workforce and its role in fostering economic development in the area commitment to growing the workforce in Macon-Bibb County.

“We are excited to extend the lease on our Macon hanger,” said Jason Grafton, Managing Director at Embraer. “As the partnership between Macon and Embraer continues to grow, this extension further solidifies and strengthens our commitment to the community along with our customers.”

Under the terms of the renewed lease, the MBCIA will continue to provide space for Embraer at the airport. The MBCIA will cover all operational costs at the airport in exchange for Embraer’s rent payments, ensuring a stable and supportive environment for Embraer’s operation.

“As Chairman of the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority, we are always thrilled when existing industries choose Macon to continue to do business, industry retention is the cornerstone of our success” Chairman Robby Fountain said.
