Embraer Reaffirms Commitment to Macon-Bibb County with New 15-Year Lease

Embraer Aircraft Maintenance Services (EAMS) solidifies its place in Macon-Bibb County by renewing the lease with the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority (MBCIA) at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport (MCN). This new lease agreement is effective immediately.
In 2018, Macon-Bibb County leased property at the airport to the MBCIA, which then subleased to Embraer. This lease was a short-term agreement allowing Embraer to fully vet the business environment in Macon-Bibb County. Under the 2018 lease Embraer committed to bringing in 100 jobs. The MBCIA hopes to see the job count rise with this new commitment. The newly renewed lease between Macon-Bibb County and the MBCIA will ensure a seamless continuation of Embraer’s operations in the region.
“Embraer has been a valued tenant at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport for the past 6 years, I am excited that we have finalized another lease agreement with them,” said Mayor Lester Miller. “Their ongoing presence not only solidifies our partnership but also reaffirms the thriving business environment we are nurturing in Macon-Bibb County.”
The new Intergovernmental Ground Lease Agreement includes an initial five-year lease with provisions for up to two five-year renewal options, extending Embraer’s presence in Macon-Bibb County for up to 15 more years. This agreement highlights Embraer’s ongoing investment in the local workforce and its role in fostering economic development in the area commitment to growing the workforce in Macon-Bibb County.

Under the terms of the renewed lease, the MBCIA will continue to provide space for Embraer at the airport. The MBCIA will cover all operational costs at the airport in exchange for Embraer’s rent payments, ensuring a stable and supportive environment for Embraer’s operation.
