The Great Macon Baking Week Kicks Off & Will Continue Throughout Next Week

The Great Macon Baking Week will begin on Sunday, July 23 and will continue through Sunday, July 30. Sixteen bakeries and restaurants will be offering up their showstopping items for customers to try in hopes of being named Macon’s Star Baker.
To participate in The Great Macon Baking Week, pick up a passport at any of the participating businesses, the Downtown Visitor Center, or Macon Arts Alliance. This will serve as your guide to Baking Week.
Visit any of the participating businesses from Sunday, July 23 through Sunday, July 30, try their signature showstopping item and receive a stamp on your passport. If you receive 5 or more stamps you can claim your free Great Macon Baking Week T-shirt (while supplies last)! Anyone who tries ALL 16 showstopping items will receive a ‘Fully Baked’ prize package that will give them full bragging rights! Passports can be turned in for prizes in person or by mail to the Downtown Macon Visitors Center at 450 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Macon, GA 31201.
Participants are also encouraged to vote for their favorite dish and award Macon’s Star Baker! Simply scan the QR code on your passport to be taken to the voting page. Voting will open on Sunday, July 23 and close on Saturday, July 29 at 11:59pm. The top 3 bakers will be announced on Sunday, July 30 during the Central City Bake Off.

Concluding Baking Week on Sunday, July 30 will be The Central City Bake Off presented by the Mill Hill Bakers Collective and Macon Arts Alliance at the Mill Hill Community Arts Center from 4-6pm. The Bake Off will feature local hobby & cottage food bakers facing off to win the title of Central City Bake Off Champion. The Bake Off is open for anyone to participate and they can sign up here. The top 3 businesses with the most votes from The Great Macon Baking Week will also be announced and awarded during the event. Tickets for the Central City Bake Off can be purchased online in advance or at the door.
