Community Foundation of Central Georgia Announces the Nonprofit Grant Recipients

Join us in congratulating these 13 nonprofits across the Central Georgia region who recently received a total of $221,860 from our Nonprofit Grant Program. Read more below about their funded projects working to address the most urgent needs and opportunities in our region.

The Arc Macon, Inc. | Bibb County 

$25,000 for Transporting Clients to Vital Services 

  • To help purchase two new reliable vehicles to transport clients to doctor’s appointments, recreational activities, day programs, and volunteer opportunities.

 

Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia | Lamar County 

$22,000 for Project Operation Expansion

  • To add another classroom at the Barnesville-Lamar Boys and Girls Club to be able to positively serve more young members of our community.

 

First Choice Primary Care, Inc. | Bibb & Houston Counties

$25,000 for Delivering for Health 

  • To replace a van needed to expand the popular prescription delivery program to South Macon and Warner Robins.

 

The HALO Group of Middle GA, Inc. | Houston County 

$10,000 for Scholarship Fund 

  • To support the HALO Group's scholarship fund will help families who need tuition assistance for individuals to participate and receive services.

 

Jasper County Historical Foundation | Jasper County 

$12,700 for Kitchen and Safety Enhancements 

  • To provide kitchen and safety handrail enhancements for Thomas Persons Hall, a 100 year old school building that is now a premier event center and community resource for our rural community and the permanent home for Jasper County Historical Foundation.

 

Keep Warner Robins Beautiful | Houston County 

$10,000 for School Tree Plantings 

  • To provide funding for trees and educational materials to local schools to foster environmental education and partnership, while increasing the tree canopy.

 

Macon Area Habitat for Humanity, Inc. | Bibb County 

$20,000 for Building the Future of Macon Habitat 

  • To engage an outside consultant to help plan for the future of our organization through a comprehensive strategic planning process.

 

Middle Georgia Regional Library | Bibb County 

$25,000 for The Library at 5494 

  • To renovate the former daycare located at 5494 Forsyth Road will be renovated to become a library branch serving both the north and west sides of Bibb County.

 

Neighbors Helping Neighbors | Putnam County 

$10,000 for Beds for Kidz 

  • To purchase materials, such as lumber, fasteners, sheets, blankets and pillows through the Beds for Kidz program, which coordinates the volunteer efforts to assemble, deliver and set up a complete bed for someone in need.

 

Pulaski Tomorrow | Pulaski County 

$7,380 for Experiences for Tomorrow's Leaders 

  • For students in 10th-12th grade, to  attend three field trips to gain experiences in leadership, citizenship, and life-skills through Pulaski Tomorrow’s Leadership Program.

 

Rebuilding Macon, Inc. | Bibb County 

$25,000 for Emergency Home Repairs 

  • To make critical repairs to the homes of low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners so that they may live in warmth, safety, and independence.

 

StreetLine Percussion Inc. | Bibb County 

$6,000 for Music Education, Competition & Scholarship Clinic Tour 

  • For students in StreetLine Percussion to participate and compete in a multi-day destination tour of the Battle of the Band, scholarship clinics and a Music College Fair event.

 

Wesley Glen Ministries | Bibb County 

$23,780 for Cornerstone Day Program Supplies and Equipment 

  • To add a new sensory room with supplies and high quality, sensory-rich integration equipment so that the Cornerstone day program participants can learn, grow, and socialize with each other.
