“We need to be that line of women that are coming to the ranks to inspire the young girls and women in our community to exceed their greatest dreams,” said Hon. Verda Colvin, “This brunch will be something that will change the trajectory of some woman's life. I think that's why this brunch is important and why it's important to be involved, to inspire and to encourage others so that we can truly raise the tide for leadership of women.”

The panel discussion on mentorship will be moderated by Erin Keller of Newtown Macon. In addition to our Youth of the Year winner, Aliayah Simmons, the panel will consist of Dr. Ansley Booker of Mercer University, Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney Anita Howard, Susannah Maddux of Macon Magazine and The Web, Rachel Moore of International Paper, and Sarah MacConnell Schanck of Crisis Line and Safe House of Central Georgia. Attendees will enjoy a complete buffet style brunch while local musician Kelley Dixson performs a diva medley, folk artist Rhonda Sunshine Miller creates live art, and SMART Girls members lead rotating workshops .
