Georgia Bankers Association Elects and Installs Officers and Directors to its Board

Members of the Georgia Bankers Association (GBA) have elected and installed officers for the 2020-2021 fiscal year and added 10 members to its board of directors.
Spence Mullis, president and CEO, Morris Bank, Dublin, was installed as the 131st Chairman of the Georgia Bankers Association.
“I think this time in our history and our careers is a banker’s dream opportunity. As bankers, we have the tools and community standing that can pay transformational financial and societal dividends for our fellow bankers, our families and every single person in our hometowns,” Mullis said during GBA’s Annual Business Meeting June 15. “It is an honor and privilege to serve my peers during this time of opportunity, and in addition to our advocacy for the industry, we’ll put a lot of focus on programming that’s designed to inspire all of us to be better leaders.”
Members elected Luke Flatt, chairman, president and CEO, AB&T, Albany, as Chairman Elect. Rhodes McLanahan, president and CEO, First American Bank and Trust Company, Athens, was elected Vice Chairman, and he also will serve as Chairman of the Association’s GBA Services, Inc., subsidiary.
In addition, 10 new board members representing the association’s geographic divisions have been elected by their peers, appointed to At Large positions, or will serve in designated positions:
