Bike Walk Macon is thrilled and honored to announce the creation of the Bike Walk Macon Fund at the Community Foundation of Central Georgia. The $1 million fund is a component fund of the Community Foundation of Central Georgia and is intended to support Bike Walk Macon’s annual operating budget for at least ten years.

“We’ve come a long way in a short amount of time,” said Rachel Umana, Bike Walk Macon’s executive director. “Approximately fifty passionate and hopeful advocates joined our kickoff meeting nearly five years ago to talk about how to create a more bikeable, walkable Macon. Since then, our organization has grown and helped pave the way for remarkable transformations and improvements to Macon’s transportation network. But, we still have a lot of work to do. I’m thrilled and grateful for at least another decade of creating a more bikeable, walkable, livable Macon!”

"I and the rest of the Board of Directors look forward to the next ten years and beyond knowing that we have a secure future." said Bike Walk Macon’s Board Chair Curtis Hertwig.

The Bike Walk Macon fund will support Bike Walk Macon’s advocacy work to enhance mobility to create a more vibrant, healthy, and equitable Macon-Bibb County. Individuals or businesses that would like to support Bike Walk Macon’s work can donate or become a member online at www.bikewalkmacon.com.
