Kathy McCollum Named Executive Director of the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank

The Middle Georgia Community Food Bank announced Kathy McCollum as executive director of the nonprofit devoted to fighting food insecurity in the 24 counties it serves.
McCollum was selected after an intensive nationwide three month search. She spent 34 years at BellSouth and AT&T in leadership positions in engineering and construction. Most recently she spent four years as the President and CEO of Wesley Glen Ministries in Macon. She has a bachelors degree from LaGrange College and a masters degree in philanthropy and development from LaGrange College. She also has an MBA from Wesleyan College in Macon.
“We are very excited to have Kathy as the new executive director of the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank,” said Jeff Battcher, Board President. “Kathy is a proven leader who has unique experience in the business and non-profit world that will take the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank to new heights.”

McCollum‘s hiring comes as the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank is seeing a tremendous increase in need with the coronavirus pandemic. In 2019 the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank distributed 8.7 million meals. The estimates for 2020 are approximately 12 million meals.
