HGTV, a member of the Discovery, Inc. family of brands, announced the winner of the HGTV Dream Home 2020 on Hilton Head Island, SC, is Susan O’Gorman of Perry, GA. O’Gorman is the recipient of the prize package valued at over $2 million, which includes the 3,500-square-foot, three-bedroom and three-and-a-half-bathroom fully furnished home, a brand-new Honda Passport Elite and $250,000 from Rocket Mortgage by Quicken Loans. The home was designed by local architect Court Atkins Group and constructed by local builder Shoreline Construction, with on-trend interior design by Brian Patrick Flynn.

O’Gorman was randomly selected from over 144 million entries to the HGTV Dream Home Sweepstakes, which lasted from December 30, 2019 through February 19, 2020. O’Gorman received daily email reminders to enter the giveaway. However, despite her diligence, O’Gorman still could not believe she had won when her daughters and the HGTV crew set up a virtual ambush with HGTV’s Tiffany Brooks to share the exciting news.

“It’s so unreal. I’m still in disbelief. It doesn’t seem like reality,” O’Gorman shared about winning the coveted grand prize.

O’Gorman and her husband Michael used to vacation on Hilton Head Island with their three children when the kids were younger, so winning this particular HGTV Dream Home was extra sweet. Her favorite part of the home is the outdoors. O’Gorman expressed her love for the backyard, citing it as a place she’d love to escape and relax.

The HGTV Dream Home 2020 is located in Windmill Harbour, a private community adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway and home of the South Carolina Yacht Club. The home, rendered in a jewel-tone blue and restful greens, nostalgic neutrals with pops of coral and blush, is an entertainer’s dream with a gourmet kitchen, a vast great room and a large, multi-purpose room upstairs. The marsh front property offers spectacular views with a backyard that includes a retractable screened porch that extends the length of the home, along with a pool and an outdoor kitchen.
