Local Geotechnical/Environmental Consulting Firm Joins Terracon Network

Geotechnical & Environmental Consultants, Inc., (GEC) is pleased to announce it has joined the national consulting firm Terracon Consultants, Inc. GEC’s Macon, Columbus, and LaGrange offices join the Terracon Atlanta, Kennesaw, Athens, and Savannah locations to provide wide spread consulting services coverage across Georgia. Terracon also has more than 150 offices throughout the U.S. providing environmental, geotechnical engineering, materials testing, and building enclosure services. GEC is Terracon’s eighth acquisition since the beginning of 2017.

“Joining Terracon will allow us to offer our clients an expanded variety of consulting services and network of offices with a diverse range of quality-oriented services. In addition, our offices will be supported by Terracon’s extended expertise and resources nationwide,” said Thomas Driver, P.E., GEC president. “With Terracon offices in Georgia, Florida, and Alabama, our 70 professionals look forward to extending our support for clients on projects throughout the region.”

GEC is an environmental, geotechnical, geophysical, drilling, and construction materials testing consulting firm headquartered in Macon, Ga., with offices in Columbus and LaGrange, Ga. GEC provides environmental services including natural resources, wetlands, asbestos, and Brownfields; geotechnical engineering; construction quality control; site exploration; and materials testing as well as a full range of solid waste services.

GEC and its employees, which include engineers, geologists, biologists, environmental specialists, engineering technicians, and site exploration professionals, will continue to serve clients locally as Geotechnical & Environmental Consultants, Inc., A Terracon Company. Driver will remain as president of GEC and regional manager for Terracon.
