Dr. Penny Elkins and Theresa Robinson Named Recipients of CWN's 2019 Women Of Achievement Award

Each year as part of Women’s History Month, Career Women’s Network (CWN) honours its Women of Achievement, in recognition of their achievements and contributions to the advancement of women, their communities, and their professions. This year’s honourees are Dr. Penny L. Elkins and Theresa L. Robinson.
Dr. Penny Elkins holds the position of Senior Vice President for Enrollment Management at Mercer University, she has served and led teams and organizations across many aspects of both P-12 and higher education. A noted keynote speaker, Dr. Elkins is a recognized expert on the topic of equipping leaders and developing effective teams to achieve success.
Elkins holds two degrees from Mercer, a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude, with majors in Christianity and education, and a master’s degree in education. She also holds an education specialist degree in education, administration, and supervision from Georgia College and State University and a Ph.D. in educational leadership from Georgia State University. A lifelong educator, Elkins began her career as a third-grade teacher and elementary school administrator.
Currently serving as President of Georgia Women of Achievement, Elkins has also served as a consultant with schools, chambers of commerce, businesses and financial institutions in the areas of leadership development and curriculum planning.
Theresa L. Robinson served with Georgia Power for 33-years and most recently as Southwest Region External Affairs Manager in Macon, Georgia. Robinson’s role in external affairs included fostering relationships with key business leaders and local, state and federal elected officials while monitoring community and legislative issues.
In the community, Robinson currently serves on the Board of Directors for Community Foundation of Central Georgia, Macon-Bibb Workforce Development, United Way of Central Georgia and Cherry Blossom Festival. She also serves on the BB&T Community Advisory Board, Grand Opera House Board of Governors and the Peyton Anderson Scholarship and Tubman Museum Annual All That Jazz Committees. Robinson recently served on the Macon Chamber Total Resource Campaign, Downtown Macon Rotary Club and Age-Friendly Council.
A native of Norris, South Carolina, Robinson is a graduate of Georgia State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Robinson is a graduate of Leadership Georgia (2003) and the Georgia Academy for Economic Development.
