Macon Man, Former GA House Candidate Sentenced After Stealing $2 Million In COVID Relief Funds, Buying A Bentley

A federal judge sentenced a Macon man and former state House candidate to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to stealing more than $2 million in COVID relief funds, according to a press release from the U.S Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Georgia.
Prosecutors say James Frank Austin Jr., 51, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including bank fraud, wire fraud and money laundering.
