Flip the Switch for Macon Habitat's Light More Homes 2025 Today
Thursday, December 4th, 2025
The 2025 Light More Homes Christmas Celebration to benefit Macon Area Habitat for Humanity kicks off on Thursday, December 4 at 5:30pm in Mercer Village. The display is hosted by Mercer University and Live@Lofts, and made possible by our generous presenting sponsor, All State Electrical. “Macon Habitat is excited to celebrate the 18th anniversary of Light More Homes this Christmas season. We will also celebrate our 6th year at Mercer and are so grateful for their support of Light More Homes and the mission of Habitat in our community,” said Chuck Hammock, AH&P partner, light display designer, and Macon Area Habitat for Humanity board member. The display will consist of a canopy of lights, arches and snow in Mercer Village, and Candy Cane Lane that stretches around Stadium Drive. Local middle, high-school and college students set the lights to music through the Chick-fil-A Programming Contest.
Macon Habitat invites representatives of the media to the Light More Homes kick-off event on Thursday, December 4 at 5:30pm in Mercer Village. We will announce the winners of the Chick-fil-A Programming Contest and count down to the official start of Light More Homes 2025 with volunteers, Habitat homeowners, and event sponsors.
Macon Area Habitat for Humanity’s Light More Homes annual Christmas light display brings joy to thousands each year and helps us literally "light more homes" by raising funds to build homeownership opportunities in Macon-Bibb and Jones Counties. MAHFH is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, an ecumenical Christian housing ministry devoted to ending substandard housing across the globe. Houses are built with volunteer support and in-kind donations and then sold to partner families at no-interest and no-profit. MAHFH was founded in Macon, Georgia in 1986, and has served almost 150 families through homeownership programs.
2025 Light More Homes sponsors include: All-State Electrical Contractors, Georgia Power, Live@Lofts, Mercer University, Chick-fil-A, Roland Abbott and DeZoort Insurance, LLC, Margarita’s in Mercer Village, Andrews Hammock and Powell Inc., United Rentals, Robins Financial Credit Union, IFT, Sheridan Construction, The Macon Civic Club’s presentation of We Built this City, Terracon, BTBB Inc., Raffield Tire Master, and Caryle Place.
Light More Homes would not be possible each year without the help of over 300 volunteers. 2025 volunteers included the Mercer women’s and men’s lacrosse team, Mercer Beach Volleyball team, Mercer Golf team, Mercer KA, Mercer ATO, National Charity League, students from the Mercer Computer Science program, Mercer Habitat Campus Chapter, Len Register, Conn Fountain, Derek MacAleer, James Menke and Innovative Fiber Technology Company, volunteers from Edward Jones, Macon Bacon, Stratford Soccer teams, Northeast Cheerleaders, Vineville United Methodist Church and many individual Mercer students who wanted to lend a hand this year.
