City Of Gordon's Surplus Auction Was Not Illegal But Created 'Appearance Of Impropriety,' District Attorney Finds

A surplus auction in Gordon that spurred controversy and concerns over self-dealing was not illegal, according to a finding from Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office.
After reviewing the Georgia Bureau of Investigation inquiry, District Attorney T. Wright Barksdale says city officials violated no criminal laws during a Sept. 27 surplus auction.
