Mercer’s 14th Annual BEAR Day to Showcase Research, Special Projects in Macon

Mercer University will hold its 14th annual Breakthroughs in Engagement, Arts and Research (BEAR) Day on April 18-19, on Mercer's Macon campus to showcase outstanding student research and special projects from theCollege of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of Business, College of Education,School of Music, College of Health Professions and School of Engineering

BEAR Day will feature more than 300 poster and oral presentations and artist exhibits including contributions from more than 550 students.

“On behalf of the BEAR Day committee, it’s an honor to organize this event showcasing the research achievements of our students,” said Dr. Lee Troupe, assistant professor of mathematics. “We hope that BEAR Day serves to inspire students and faculty alike to forge new connections within our community of scholars.”

BEAR Day 2024 Schedule:

Poster presentations

April 18, 4-6 p.m., in the University Center

Oral presentations

April 19, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., at locations across the Macon campus

Lunch, featuring live music

April 19, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., on the Historic Quad

Art and design senior exhibition

April 19, doors open at 4 p.m., reception 6-8 p.m., at the McEachern Art Center in downtown Macon

 A full schedule of presentations will be available before the start of the event in a digital program at bearday.mercer.edu. Printed copies will also be available to pick up on April 19, at the buildings where talks are being held.
