Macon-Bibb Organizations Host Commission Candidate Forum

Georgia Women (And Those Who Stand With Us), in collaboration with local community groups, is organizing a political forum for candidates campaigning for the Macon Bibb Commissioner seats. This event is set for March 25, 2024, at the Government Building, located at 700 Poplar Street, Macon, Georgia, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The forum aims to enlighten residents about the candidates' stances on pivotal community issues through a series of questions. Additionally, it will welcome audience engagement by allowing for question submissions. The event will be broadcast live on the Georgia Women (And Those Who Stand With Us) Facebook page, ensuring broad accessibility.

A partnership of influential organizations, deeply dedicated to civic engagement and the holistic progress of our community, have joined forces to ensure the success of this event including Georgia Women (And Those Who Stand With Us), Macon Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., The Delta Sigma Pi Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc, Macon Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Middle Georgia 4 Choice, Macon (GA) Chapter of the Links, Inc., A. Phillip Randolph Institute, Macon Georgia Chapter of the NAACP, League of Women Voters Macon-Bibb, The Urban CEO, Macon -Middle Georgia Chapter of the National Panhellenic Council, Epsilon Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Macon Magazine, and The Liaison Initiative.

Everyone is invited to join and participate in this democratic event. The goal is to foster community engagement and provide information that will aid in making informed decisions in the upcoming election. The following forum will spotlight candidates for District 2 of the Water Authority and is scheduled for April 1, 2024, at the same venue.
