James Bates Brannan Groover LLP, a full-service law firm with offices in Macon, Atlanta, and Athens, announces the addition of attorney Matthew A. Laws to the firm’s litigation practice group.
Matt graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Music Industry, a business degree with an entertainment focus. After holding positions on both the creative and management sides of the music industry, Matt then obtained his J.D. from the Emory University School of Law.
James Bates Brannan Groover LLP is excited to have the commitment, standards, and experience that Matt brings.
Matt’s practice focuses on general litigation matters, including insurance defense. Matt has extensive litigation experience in both state and federal courts, having practiced white collar criminal defense for over a decade with a boutique firm in San Francisco, California. Matt’s jury trial experience ranges from complex federal fraud trials taking several months to a short two-day trial in which the jury acquitted his client after only 15 minutes of deliberation. Matt also has appellate experience, briefing matters before the Ninth Circuit.
