Warner Robins Unemployment Rate Drops for the New Year

Georgia Labor Commissioner Bruce Thompson said Thursday that Warner Robins recorded an unemployment rate of 2.6 percent in December, down two-tenths of a percent over-the-month. A year ago, the rate was 2.9 percent.

"As existing businesses scale new heights and a steady influx of new enterprises proudly choose Georgia as their home, the Peach State appears headed toward continued economic success.”

The labor force decreased in Warner Robins by 313 and ended the month with 86,936. That number went up by 766 when compared to December of 2022. 

Warner Robins finished the month with 84,636 employed residents. That number decreased by 181 over-the-month and went up by 968 when compared to the same time a year ago. 

Warner Robins ended December with 81,800 jobs, an all-time high. That number increased by 200 from November to December and went up by 1,400 when compared to this time last year. 

In December, initial unemployment claims decreased by 12 (-5%) in Warner Robins. When you compare December 2023 claims to December 2022, claims were unchanged.
