Discover greener, healthier, and more affordable ways to commute during Macon Car Free Day on Friday, May 26th. Hosted by Bike Walk Macon, this initiative encourages participants to sign the Car Free Day pledge at www.bikewalkmacon.com/carfreeday and swap their car wheels for biking, walking, or public transit options.


This year's event is accompanied by exciting initiatives and benefits:
Soirée on Thursday, May 25th: Join Bike Walk Macon and Macon Magazine for a Women in Business program at JBA Macon (425 Cherry St.) from 4 to 6 p.m., celebrating, promoting, and setting the stage for Car Free Day the following day.


Free Fare Day on May 26th: Macon Transit Authority (MTA) offers unlimited free bus rides throughout the entire day, making alternative transportation accessible and convenient.


Exclusive Deals on May 26th: Sign the Car Free Day pledge and unlock discounts at local businesses like Macon Bagels, Ingleside Village Pizza, Oh Honey, and Yollah.


Car-Free Day Meetups on May 26th: Connect with like-minded individuals at Macon Bagels (470 Third Street) from 7:45 am to 9 am for casual conversations about enhancing biking and walking. Macon Magazine invites participants to enjoy free bus fares by riding the bus for a lunch outing to Ingleside Village Pizza. Meet at the Transfer Station (200 Cherry St) at 11 am.


Bike Walk Macon hopes that Car Free Day will allow participants to experience the benefits of going car-free and be encouraged to incorporate multi-modal transportation more often in the future, creating a greener and more sustainable Macon-Bibb County.
