Warner Robins Sees Rise in August Unemployment Rate

Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said Thursday that Warner Robins recorded an unemployment rate of 3.2 percent in August, up two-tenths of a percent over the month. A year ago, the rate was 3.7 percent.

“As we look toward the fall, we are committed to supporting the workforce as employers search for seasonal, full-time, and part-time employees to fill vacancies in preparation for the holiday employment season,” said Commissioner Mark Butler.

The labor force decreased in Warner Robins by 400 and ended the month with 86,805. That number went up 367 when compared to August of 2021.

Warner Robins finished the month with 83,998 employed residents. That number decreased by 589 over the month and rose 783 when compared to the same time a year ago.

Warner Robins ended August with 79,300 jobs. From July to August, job numbers increased by 500 and when compared to the same time last year jobs rose by 2,100.

The number of unemployment claims went up by 41 percent in Warner Robins in August. When compared to last August, claims were down by about 47 percent.

Employ Georgia, the GDOL’s online job listing service at employgeorgia.com showed about 1,492 active job postings in Warner Robins for August.
