The Otis Redding Foundation’s (ORF) 15th Annual Otis Music Camp (OMC) Grand Finale Performance will be this Saturday, June 18 at 7:00 pm at the Grand Opera House in Macon. This will be the first live performance in three years due to the pandemic. Admission is a ten-dollar donation to the Otis Redding Foundation.

The performance comes after two vigorous weeks of songwriting, lessons in music theory, vocal and performance techniques, and an overview of the music industry taught by professionals from across the country.

Otis Music Camp is a labor of love put on annually by The Otis Redding Foundation and the Redding family with the goal of empowering attendees through robust programming with real-world lessons and instruction in music and the arts.

“Working with these campers in-person after three years of virtual camp is a renewed excitement for all of us,” says Karla Redding-Andrews, daughter of Otis Redding and VP/Executive Director of the Otis Redding Foundation. “Seeing the hard work and dedication put in by these kids to learn the music and craft original songs, demonstrates why we offer this camp year after year. It was my dad’s dream, and we are proud to make it a reality."

For the last few years, OMC was held virtually to protect the health and safety of campers, coaches, and guest presenters in a format Otis Redding Foundation called OMC2.0. This allowed the ORF to continue the mission of enhancing and motivating youth minds in music and the arts.
