Mercer University’s Business School Launches Certificate Programs for DEI Management, Women in Leadership

Mercer University’s Stetson-Hatcher School of Business recently launched new graduate certificate programs in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Management and Women in Leadership.

“The School of Business is excited to continue Mercer’s mission to respect the dignity of every person and celebrate both our commonalities and our differences with the creation of these two exciting programs,” said Dr. Jeremy Bennett, associate dean and associate professor of management. “Both the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Management and Women in Leadership certificates will help business leaders develop initiatives and demonstrate how inclusive decision-making benefits both the bottom line and company culture as a whole.”

Mercer’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Management certificate results from four courses or 12 credit hours taken fully online. The program is designed to cultivate the skills necessary to create inclusive cultures, enhance organizational effectiveness and maximize the sense of belonging among diverse stakeholders in organizations and communities.

Participants will learn how to plan, design, implement and assess an organizational intervention to improve an organization’s value, leveraging or awareness of DEI in the workplace.

Mercer’s Women in Leadership certificate results from four courses or 12 credit hours taken in-person on the University’s Cecil B. Day Campus in Atlanta. The program is designed to develop emerging women-leaders for leadership roles and inspire innovation to create greater gender equality in organizations.

Participants will gain actionable knowledge and skills to confront the unique challenges women face along their leadership journey. Dynamic curriculum in negotiation and conflict resolution, innovation and entrepreneurship, data-driven decision making, organizational behavior, and a comprehensive leadership proposal and presentation further develop and equip women as leaders.

Applicants to both programs must hold a bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by an institutional accreditor recognized by the U.S. Department of Education with an acceptable level of scholarship. International applicants must submit transcripts and academic records showing the completion of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a foreign university.
