Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has been stressing the need to keep Georgia’s voter rolls clean, and he recently completed an audit to identify the number of illegals who attempted to register to vote in Georgia elections. Monday, he told InsiderAdvantage that the 100-Percent Citizen Audit turned up 1,634 illegal citizens who filled out registration forms to vote in the last election but were not eligible because of citizenship issues.

“We want to assure the voters of Georgia that the system is working,” Raffensperger told InsiderAdvantage in a telephone interview Monday morning. “This audit shows that 1,634 people registered to vote illegally in the State of Georgia but were not able to do so. I am the first Secretary of State in Georgia to order the 100 Percent Citizen Audit, and it proved that our system does work.”

According to Raffensperger, his office will now begin an investigation into why these illegal citizens attempted to register – whether through a third party or another reason– and will then begin prosecutions.

“We know that Americans believe that only legal American citizens should vote, and we will continue to fight to make sure that only American citizens vote in Georgia elections,” said Raffensperger. “We will get to the bottom of this and will make sure they don’t try to vote in our elections again.”

Raffensperger says he is pushing lawmakers on the need for a Constitutional Amendment to make sure only legal citizens cast a ballot in Georgia and across the country.

“We have seen in other states where non-citizens are being allowed to cast ballots,” said Raffensperger. “In New York City, almost 2 million non-citizens are being allowed to vote in local elections. And this is starting to take place in other places as well. We want to make sure this doesn’t happen in Georgia.”

Last week, InsiderAdvantage reported that the Georgia Elections Board approved a subpoena which allowed Raffensperger to secure evidence and testimony in an ongoing investigation into possible ballot harvesting. The investigation centers around whether third-party liberal activists illegally gathered thousands of absentee ballots in the 2020 general election and a subsequent runoff that determined Democrat control of the U.S. Senate.

The subpoena power will allow the Secretary of State’s team to secure evidence about a whistleblower who alleged to an election integrity group that he participated in a large operation to gather ballots in which activists were paid $10 for each ballot they delivered, according to reports.

According to Raffensperger, Georgia law expressly prohibits third parties from collecting, gathering or delivering absentee ballots, except in the case of immediate relatives. “We explicitly out-lawed ballot harvesting when I took office,” he said.
