Wesleyan College to Host Nursing Open House, Wednesday, October 20th
Tuesday, October 19th, 2021
A recent report from The Georgia Center for Nursing Excellence indicates that over the next five years, the State of Georgia will need to replace thirty percent of the nursing workforce due to exists, transfers, and increased demand. Already, the number of nurses in the workforce is insufficient to meet the current needs and rising demand for the largest and most trusted professionals in healthcare today.
Wesleyan’s bachelor of science in nursing degree (BSN) offers qualified students a two-year rigorous liberal arts foundation, followed by a unique two-year nursing curriculum. Specific coursework integrated throughout the curriculum prepares graduates for management and leadership roles in the field of nursing. Registered nurses with four-year BSN degrees are more likely than RNs to hold supervisor positions and earn higher salaries. Wesleyan is graduating high-caliber, patient-centered, critical-thinking nurses who will help transform healthcare throughout our community and state. The overall NCLEX passage rate for Wesleyan students far exceeds the national average of 87% and the majority of our BSN graduates have received job offers by the time they took their NCLEX exam.
Admission into Wesleyan College’s nursing program is extremely competitive, but select high school seniors who choose to begin their college careers at Wesleyan are given the opportunity to apply for the Guaranteed Acceptance Program (GAP). GAP students who meet the criteria are given priority over any other applicants to the nursing program.
Because about sixty percent of registered nurses in the state are over fifty years of age, more younger nurses are needed to fill in the gap as these nurses retire. Join us for a nursing open house, Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 11:00AM – 1:00PM or 3:00PM – 5:00PM to see first-hand what Wesleyan offers BSN students.
