Staff Report

Wednesday, October 6th, 2021

We are pleased to announce that we received a $40,795 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS). The grant will support efforts to develop and execute educational programs that expand and promote bicycle and pedestrian safety to reduce the number of pedestrian and bicycle fatalities, injuries, and crash rates in Macon-Bibb County, Georgia.

Thanks to GOHS, Bike Walk Macon’s new education program, which will continue through September 2022, will include increased opportunities for bicycle and pedestrian classes, resources, and workshops for youth, law enforcement, and the general public. Be on the lookout for more info about these new opportunities in the next month!
