Sabrina Phelps Receives Administrator of the Year Award at 2021 GACTE Summit

Sabrina Phelps was named the 2021 Administrator of the Year for the Work-Based Learning and Youth Apprenticeship Division of the Georgia Association for Career & Technical Education last month.

Sabrina Phelps was among 38 Career, Technical, and Agricultural (CTAE) educators honored by the Georgia Association for Career & Technical Education (GACTE) during its Summer Summit. The Summit drew over 1,800+ CTAE educators from throughout the State of Georgia.  Each division recipient was then considered as a nominee for the corresponding state award. 

Phelps serves as the Principal and CEO of the Houston County Career Academy. Phelps has been an educator for more than 25 years for the Houston County School District. She is recognized as a leader in Career Technology Education, and is committed to preparing student for their future.

“It is an honor to receive the GACTE Administrator of the Year award from GA’s Work-Based Learning/ Youth Apprenticeship division,” said Phelps. “Our workforce projects continue to create a pipeline of employees for our business community.”

The Houston County Career Academy (HCCA), located at 1311 Corder Road, integrates academics and advanced career/technical education programs. HCCA is available as a part-time option to students who attend one of the five high schools in the Houston County School System.
