Piedmont Macon Rehabilitation Center, an inpatient rehabilitation center within Piedmont Macon Medical Center in Macon, has been named a 2021 America’s Best Rehabilitation Center in Georgia by Newsweek Magazine.

Piedmont Macon was recognized among Georgia’s top facilities for quality of care, reputation, and accreditation.  The Newsweek distinction ranks Piedmont Macon fifth in the state, the only inpatient rehabilitation facility to make the list within 50 miles.

Mathieu Turncliff, Director of Rehabilitation Services, said the dedication and expertise of the rehabilitation team at Piedmont Macon are the keys to their success as a department.

“Our therapists and staff at Piedmont Macon are devoted to the steadfast recovery of every patient in our care. When a patient or family member of a patient entrusts our team to nurse their loved one back to their best health, we take great pride in that responsibility. I couldn’t be more proud of our entire rehabilitation staff for all their hard work amidst the challenging conditions of this global pandemic,” said Turncliff.

Newsweek’s Best Rehabilitation Centers of 2021 distinguishes the best inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs) in 25 states with the highest number of inpatient rehabilitation facilities.  The ranking was performed by Newsweek and Statista, an industry leading provider of market and consumer data. The score was derived from KPI (key performance index) data based on accreditations and awards and combined with survey responses from medical experts including physicians, therapists, medical doctors, administration, and staff working in physical rehabilitation facilities.
