Georgia Power employees are making a difference in communities across the state this Earth Month by participating in projects that enhance environmental stewardship.

Recently, Georgia Power employees from Plant Scherer donated four bird feeders (each for a different bird species), bird seed with storage containers for each species, tomato plants for the greenhouse and wildflower butterfly mix to K.B. Sutton Elementary School in Forsyth.

The donations will be used by students as part of the school’s focus on environmental science.

With more than 40 chapters statewide, Citizens of Georgia Power - the employee volunteer arm of the company – gives back to their local communities through in-person and virtual volunteer projects, fundraisers, and donations. In 2020, Citizens’ members logged more than 55,000 hours of service equal to $1.5 million.
