Macon-Bibb County’s Office of Small Business Affairs is holding a series of three virtual seminars for small businesses, people thinking of starting a business, and jobseekers. Below is description, day, and time of each seminar. Each seminar is open to anyone interested and free to attend, but space is limited to 25 people for each. To register, email [email protected].

“The Mayor, through his Transition Team, identified the need to focus on equity, inclusion, and diversity in our procurement processes,” says Office of Small Business Affairs Director Charise Stephens. “Our goal is to increase the number of minorities and women bidding for government contracts, increasing access to employment opportunities, and increasing the overall economic health of our community.”

The Office’s Vision is equity in local business opportunities, and the Mission is to develop and coordinate inclusive programs.

“These trainings a great start to achieving that goal, and I want to encourage anyone interested in doing business with local governments – or start a business.

This training will be led by a procurement expert, Amber Jones, to give businesses insight on being more competitive. As a procurement officer, she will review tips on what to do and not to do, as well as provide an overview of bid requirements. This webinar is essential to taking your business to the next level or if you are trying to decide your next business venture.

Greater Macon Works Jobseekers

This training provided by the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce will guide participants on this exciting new platform and how to navigate it to maximize effectiveness. The Greater Macon Chamber team will also share the benefits of having a relationship with your local Chamber. If you think knowledge is power, this series topic is for you.
