Mayor, Commissioners Sworn in at Ceremony at Historic Macon City Auditorium
Tuesday, January 12th, 2021
"There is no shortage of opportunity and no deficit of resources. Together, we can make sure that when future generations reflect on this time in our history, they will see our resolve and our results and be inspired to meet whatever challenges they may confront," Mayor Lester M. Miller told a socially distanced crowd at his and the Commissioners' Inauguration on December 30, 2020 at the Historic Macon City Auditorium.

Sworn in at the Ceremony were a new Mayor, five returning Commissioners, and four new Commissioners:
Lester M. Miller * Mayor
Valerie Wynn * District 1 Commissioner
Paul Bronson * District 2 Commissioner
Elaine H. Lucas * District 3 Commissioner
Mallory C. Jones, III * District 4 Commissioner
Seth Clark * District 5 Commissioner
Raymond Wilder * District 6 Commissioner
Bill Howell * District 7 Commissioner
Virgil Watkins, Jr. * District 8 Commissioner
Al Tillman * District 9 Commissioner
The Fire Department and Sheriff's Office led the Presentation of Colors, and Voice of the Creek Charles Davis sang the National Anthem. The Invocation was led by Victory Baptist Church Senior Pastor Kenny Hamm. Probate Court Judge Sarah Harris led each elected official in being sworn in before Mayor-elect Miller addressed the audience.

"Our future is left to us to write, and we are writing it now as we approach our 200th anniversary," Mayor Miller said as he closed out his comments. "So, let us commit today to build upon our strengths to create a stronger, safer, and more prosperous community where every person is respected and every child, regardless of their beginnings, can succeed."
