For Fiscal Year 2021 (July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021), the Macon-Bibb County Commission has set a millage rate the same as the year before, which is 20.331 mills. It was approved following three Public Hearings for community feedback, and a vote on Tuesday, August 11.

“We have made significant investment in our community, and that is reflected in our property values. Our homes are worth more now than they were five years ago, and that is because we are more and more being recognized as a great place to live,” says Macon-Bibb Mayor Robert Reichert. “The investment has been made by each of us, and it’s time to take care of the hardworking and dedicated employees that serve our community on a daily basis.”

Due to the increase in property values, this legally equals a property tax increase of 0.344 mills, or 1.72 percent. A home with fair market value of $125,000 could see an annual increase of about $14.81.
