Doug Newsome has joined Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA as Vice President of Administration. Newsome previously served 12 years in various roles at Goodwill of Upstate/Midlands in Greenville, SC, where his most recent title was Vice President of Support Services. 

“I am honored and excited to join a mission-minded organization where I am able to use my God given talents to help others,” said Newsome, who was honored in 2015 by Goodwill Industries International and his peers with the Dr. Edgar J. Helms Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to Goodwill’s loss prevention and safety efforts. 

He led the team that created and implemented Goodwill of Middle Georgia’s pandemic response plan.

Newsome earned his B.S. in Criminal Justice from Georgia Southern University.  He completed Goodwill Industries International’s Executive Development Program in 2013 and earned his MBA in 2016.   

Doug has been married to his soulmate, Barbara, for 19 years; they have two children: Aaron and Callie. A native of Fayetteville, GA, Newsome enjoys spending his free time learning more about his Savior Jesus Christ, spending time with his family, camping, fishing and all things Alabama football.
