Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO

Friday, January 10th, 2020

The Georgia DOT will hold a detour open house on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church at 1534 Tucker Road, Macon, Georgia, regarding a project to replace two County Road 742/Tucker Road bridges, one over Interstate 475 and one over Rocky Creek, both in Bibb County.

The project proposes to replace the existing functionally obsolete CR 742/Tucker Road bridge over Interstate 475 with a new bridge slightly to the east of the current structure. This new bridge would include two 12-foot travel lanes and an eight-foot shoulder. In addition, the functionally obsolete bridge on CR 742/Tucker Road over Rocky Creek would be replaced with a new one featuring two 12-foot travel lanes and a ten-foot (four-foot paved) shoulder. The project length is approximately 0.5 mile and has a design speed of 45 miles per hour.

The purpose of this detour public information open house is to provide the public with an opportunity to view the proposed detour, ask questions, and comment on the detour route and projects.

The open house will be informal and the public is invited to attend anytime during its hours. There will be no formal presentation. A court reporter will be available to allow the public an opportunity to make verbal comments about the project as needed.
