VECTR Center to Host Veterans for Fourth Annual Veterans Day Celebration on November 8th

Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO

Friday, November 8th, 2019

The 4th Annual Veterans Day Celebration planned for former servicemen and women from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource (VECTR) Center on Friday, November 8, 2019, will condense its one-stop-shop approach to veterans services into a remarkable day.

The VECTR Center will offer a range of activities, including health screenings by Houston Healthcare and the Department of Health, a three-hour block of presentations by veterans, and free painting classes.

Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) Barbering program will also provide haircuts for veterans and their families free of charge. A light lunch provided by Sonny’s BBQ will also be available.

The celebration is a small sample of the daily operation of the Center. Under one roof, The Georgia VECTR Center hosts partners from Georgia Department of Veteran Services (GDVS), Georgia Department of Labor, the local Workforce Board, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the United Way and its Mission United to meet the needs of military, veterans and their families.

Unique to the nation and military community at large, the VECTR Center continues to serve as the standard for education, training and transition services to veterans.
