Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO

Tuesday, October 15th, 2019

Middle Georgia Honor Flight will have its first annual Escorted Fundraiser Ride on Saturday, October 19. The ride will begin with registration at 10:00am and is open to all bikes and jeeps. The fundraiser rolls out of Harley-Davidson of Macon, 5000 Mercer University Drive at 11:30, and will end at the American Legion Post 172, 1345 Radio Loop in Warner Robins.

The cost to participate in this 75-mile ride is $25.00 per rider and $10.00 per passenger. Food will be available at both ends of the escorted ride, and raffle prizes, silent auctions and a 50/50 drawing will be held at the American Legion.

This ride will benefit Middle Georgia Honor Flight, a local veteran non-profit organization that provides World War II, Korea and Vietnam veterans with free trips to Washington, D.C. to see their memorials. Approximately 90 veterans from Middle Georgia have taken part in one of these honor flights during the organization’s first year in existence. Six honor flights are scheduled for 2020, beginning in March, from the Middle Georgia Regional Airport.
